I’ve rewatched a lot from the last two games, and what is so baffling is on paper we look fine:
- Our AA is putting up AA numbers, and efficiently
- Our 7’0 is imposing the lane & a guaranteed double-double
- Our other guards have shot it decently
So, what’s the issue?

So, what’s the issue?
First of all, both losses we defended the three-point line very poorly.
Secondly, players like Scott, Young & Liddell targeted our ‘small-four’ lineup.
Third, both games when we got down, our team had a ‘deer-in-headlights’ look. Surprising for a veteran team.
Fourth, when Kofi defends a stretch - four/ center, he struggles. He has to choose to defend the shot or the lane bc of his speed, so he gets stuck in the middle.
Fifth, when down, our passes around the arc get lazy. Lead to multiple TOs.
I’m not sure there is a ‘quick-fix’ to our issues. I could see BU trying a lineup change, but I don’t know what that would be. I do know when we defend & bring energy we are a tough matchup for any team with our star-power and shooters. Unfortunately we need to bring that for 40.
