Where are all the NHS Trust CIOs? I've done some research over the last couple of months and it doesn't make great reading. The visibility of NHS CIOs needs to increase!

Only 22% have a CIO on the Board

Only 22% have a CIO on the Board
I couldn't find the name of the CIO at 45 Trusts (20%).
Of the 169 CIOs I could find the name of, 90% are on LinkedIn but loads with pretty much an empty profile
Of the 169 CIOs I could find the name of, 47% are on Twitter, but there are only 22 who tweet in any volume.@AdeByrne is the king of Tweets
Of the 169 CIOs I could find the name of, only 1.2% have a blog
But changing this situation is possible. NHS CIOs need to find their voice. They need to articulate the potential of digital transformation and why they need to be at the Board table to navigate the massive changes coming over the next few years.
The first step is to start working and sharing and being public and bold in way appropriate for the internet era!
