The problem with Netflix’s #RompanTodo lays not in being brief but rather erases half of Latin America from the map.
While it’s certainly a love letter to Argentina’s relevant rock scene and vision, being called “La historia del rock en América Latina” is inaccurate. 1/8

When talking about Woodstock inspired festivals such as Festival de Avándaro in México (1971), why not mention Mar y Sol in Puerto Rico (1972) where at least a few local bands played https://marysol-festival.com/performers/rubber-band

The late Cosmos94 radio station would play Spanish singing bands exclusively. You could hear local bands such as La Mancha en el Jardín (since 1992), El Manjar de los Dioses with Iconic @FofeAbredu), Sol d Menta, La Uva alongside Café Tacvba or Catupecu Machu any day. 4/8
Venezuela’s Desorden Público, Caramelos de Cianuro and Los Mesoneros to name a few bands from the back of my mind. Even Cuba has a very unique rock and metal scene worth exploring. As well as Peru’s Uchpa, a rock outfit that sings in an uncolonized language. 5/8
On the Electronic fusion with rock I was surprised/disappointed not to see (one of my fav) Electrodomésticos, from Chile. They’ve been at it against all odds since 1984! 6/8

Although I’m grateful Rompan Todo included a tiny homage to the front woman of the most brilliant band in México (Rita Guerrero), the women of rock segment felt both rushed and lacking. 7/8
This project immortalizes the trajectory of a limited selection of musicians, most of them revolving around producer @santaolallaok
It tries to be inspiring & nostalgic but fails to actually #breakitall down to the real vast latin rock scene we love. 8/8
