I have to ask why the horizon of a world where young trans people do not experience terror, isolation, and limited opportunities due to transphobia / transmisogyny... has to be conceived of as one where trans experiences are no longer distinct?
or, I guess: where one's life experiences as a trans person look more like a cis person's now, and not one where cisness ceases to be a default experience- because that's a convergence I can imagine happily
I think there might also be a kind of use in thinking abt which trans conceptions of futurity create more possibilities, and which ones are predicated on living trans lives in one specific way. like: cis gays & str8s are not the only ppl who can use futurity in regressive ways
if we're so limited in what we dream of as to make cisness- a burning house people are leaping from- the thing we're envisioning, what the fuck are we going to be able to build from that dream?
it's our duty to dream bigger
it's our duty to dream bigger
