Sick and tired of companies like @Hallmark half ass-ing Spanish translations just to sell. Pic 1: front cover of a card I got. Plays w/ words Latina and la tina (bathtub). Cute. Pic 2: translation of card in English (I love being Latina — bathtub wordplay doesn’t work as well)
“Happy bday to a woman who plainly and clearly is always herself”. Thanks. Pic 3: Msg in Spanish: Feliz cumpleaños a una mujer que limpia y claramente es siempre ella misma (Happy bday to a woman who CLEANS and is clearly herself). WTF?
The translation (based on English version) should be: Feliz cumpleaños a una mujer que siempre es simple y claramente ella misma. I won’t even get into grammar/ word choice
The botched translation not only does not make sense but it manages to stereotype.

Yeah, I LOVE being a Latina who cleans

Seriously, pay professional translators to do this and stop plugging things into crappy online translators. Half-assed translations are disrespectful to say the least.
