As a Machine Learning Engineer, I get to be involved in a lot of crazy cool projects.
Here are 5 of them:
Here are 5 of them:

Inspecting outdoor pipelines to detect leaks. These inspections are carried by the Spot robot. As it walks, it takes pictures and our system analyzes them in real-time to determine whether there are any leaks.
We use Deep Learning as the core of the solution.
Flight assistant to aid drone inspection of telecommunication towers. The algorithm uses Computer Vision to aid a pilot to properly take video footage of the towers (ensuring the drone is properly located.)
We use Deep Learning here as well.
Analog Gauge Reading. This is a solution that is able to read analog gauges and determine whether the equipment is working as expected based on those readings.
We use a combination of Deep Learning and OpenCV to read the gauges.
Identification of faulty electrical components on outdoor poles. This is a solution that uses a pipeline of Deep Learning models to determine whether different electrical components are faulty. All the images are taken by drones.
Pretty handy after hurricanes!
Identification of break-ins into a private venue. The solution uses video footage to identify people that walk into the place without paying.
This solution uses a combination of Object Detection, Tracking, Optical Flow, and Anomaly Detection using LTSM encoders.
All of these projects require the effort of an entire team: software engineers, data scientists, cloud specialists, designers, project managers, ml engineers, QA, etc.
It's amazing what you can build with a team that loves what they do!
