So I kind of knew people didn’t understand chemistry super well given the popularity of homeopathy etc., but I didn’t realize perhaps the extent of it...

So I come across this video where this woman mixed bleach and vinegar together trying to clean something and had to call poison control because she created chlorine gas. I swear most of the comments on the post said things along the lines of “I didn’t know that could happen”

To which someone replied.... “um.. everything is a chemical?” And the other person just said “haha science was never my thing”

HOW ARE SOME PEOPLE FAILED SO MUCH BY THE EDUCATION SYSTEM

This has to be where many industries prey on scientific illiteracy and say things like “this food doesn’t have chemicals” or “dOnT pUt ChEmiCaLz In YoUr BoDy”.
