Holy crap

Some takeaways (slight spoilers) below:

Love how race never became the focal point of this movie, it mattered but was not exploited.

When [KL] expressed how she was from the south side and [CT] was like “you come from a long line of warriors”

*chefs kiss* excellent. They didn’t exploit a socioeconomic condition.

Or as @mcasinger pointed out to me,

let’s talk about how there were all women in a war zone in Afghanistan!? When have you ever seen that on film?! We stan.

Or let’s talk about how the romantic [same-sex] couple survived the entire movie. Nothing [catastrophic] happened to them and their romance wasn’t based on trauma, pain or, sex. They just existed!
